God the Creator - The Mystery of His Greatness: Part 5 of 13

Preview: An introduction to the God of Creation; the only true God. This is the fifth part of a thirteen-part series of lessons on this subject.


Scripture Reading: Isaiah 40:12-17.

Memory Verse: Ecclesiastes 3:11.

1. Do we find in the foregoing Scriptures that the human mind cannot fully comprehend the magnitude of God?
Note: Man tries to reduce the greatness of God to his frame of understanding. This leads to discord and division among His people.
2. Will man’s unwillingness to acknowledge the unsearchable greatness of God cause him to make false gods, which he can see and touch? Jeremiah 10:2-5, Jeremiah 10:8 & Isaiah 40:18-20.
3. What should our witness be concerning God? Jeremiah 10:6-7, Jeremiah 10:10-12 & Isaiah 40:21-23.
4. Has the theory of evolution affected man’s understanding of the enormity of God? Isaiah 40:25-26 & Romans 1:23-25.
Note: It has not only affected their understanding of who God the Creator is, it is affecting their moral conduct.
5. Can the heavens contain the vastness of God? I Kings 8:27 & Jeremiah 23:23-24.
6. Did Solomon realize that God was too great to be confined to the magnificent temple that he built? II Chronicles 2:1-6.
Note: Religious wars and racial strife is caused by small minded and selfish people who believe they know more about God than others do.
7. How did God address this attitude? Isaiah 55:8-11 & Hosea 14:9.
8. Did Job and his friend Elihue realize this? Job 11:7-10 & Job 37:22-24.
Note: God has no respect for those who think they are as wise as He.
9. What is the only solution for man’s lack of godly wisdom and understanding? I Corinthians 2:1-13 & I Corinthians 2:16.
10. Can the natural reasoning and thinking of man understand the ways of God? I Corinthians 2:14.
Note: These are the people who stir up discord among the brethren. God only reveals Himself to those who are willing to be led by the Holy Spirit; they will trust and obey.
