Scripture Reading: Jeremiah 2:26-37.

Memory Verse: Hebrews 4:16.

1. Discuss Israel’s attitude when they forgot who their God was in the Scripture Reading.
Note: We see the same thing taking place in our society today. There is a great movement toward religion, but not according to the truth or obedience to God.
2. If we are not careful what can sometimes cause us to forget who God is? Deuteronomy 8:11-14.
3. Is there danger that we may mistake material gain for God’s blessings? Why? Deuteronomy 9:4-6.
Note: We cannot judge our relationship with God by our gains and losses. All of our accomplishments should be used to glorify Him.
4. How can we truly see and judge ourselves? James 1:20-25.
5. What is pure and undefiled religion? James 1:26-27, I Timothy 5:3, I Timothy 5:8, I Timothy 5:16, I John 2:15-17.
6. What happens when we fail to grow in the Lord? II Peter 1:4-9.
7. What are we promised if we do grow in grace? II Peter 1:10.
8. What burden should God’s people have for the next generation? II Peter 1:12-15, II Peter 3:1-2.
Note: Because this has been neglected we are beginning to see a famine in the land of hearing the Word of God. We should always remember to thank God for those who watch and care for our souls.
9. Why should we be prepared for those who scoff at the truth? II Peter 3:3-5, II Peter 3:9.
10. What must we all do if we are to be saved? II Peter 3:10-14, Isaiah 55:6-7, Isaiah 56:1-5.
Note: Paul advised us to come boldly to the throne of grace (Hebrews 4:16). But we must not forget that we must come through the blood of Jesus Christ. There is no other way.
